A clinical study may provide needed relief.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) can mean lots of pain due to gas and bloating. Right now, a clinical research study is enrolling women who have irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea OR who have mixed IBS (with
diarrhea and constipation at different times), known as IBS-D and IBS-M. Researchers are testing an investigational drug to learn whether it can relieve symptoms of IBS abdominal or belly pain.
Those who volunteer and qualify will participate for up to 22 weeks. During this time, participants will receive study drug or a placebo for up to 14 weeks in the form of a tablet taken once per day by mouth. Your health is very important to us and will be monitored throughout the entire study.
You may qualify for the study if you:
• Have been diagnosed with IBS-D or IBS-M
• Are female and aged 18 to 70
• Have abdominal or belly pain related to your bowel movements
All study-related medication and care will be at no cost to you if you volunteer and qualify.
