About the TRIUMPH-2-GZBK Study

The TRIUMPH-2-GZBK Study is evaluating the safety and efficacy of an investigational medicine for adults with excess weight and type 2 diabetes.

You may be able to take part in the TRIUMPH-2-GZBK Study if you:

  • Are aged 18 or over
  • Have a BMI* of 27 kg/m2 or greater
  • Have been on stable treatment for type 2 diabetes for at least 3 months
  • Have not been able to lose body weight on your own through diet changes

*BMI stands for body mass index. It is a number that compares a person’s weight to their height. It can be used to tell if a person may be at risk of some health conditions.

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor and staff will review additional eligibility criteria with you and answer any questions you may have.

Study Overview

If you are eligible and decide to take part in the TRIUMPH-2-GZBK Study, you will be randomly assigned to get either the investigational medicine or placebo (a substance that looks like the investigational medicine but contains no active ingredients). You will give yourself an injection once a week using an autoinjector (single-dose pen).

The study will last for about 89 weeks and you will have up to 24 visits, including 14 in-person visits with doctors and researchers at the study center and 10 phone/video call visits.

Throughout the study, you will get help managing your weight, whether you’re taking the investigational medicine or a placebo. You will have access to healthy nutrition and physical activity advice, health checks, and doctors and researchers specialized in weight management.
